Interesting facts about NASA (part 5)

1. In 2006, NASA admitted that they did not have original video footage of the astronauts landing on the moon.

2. NASA is developing a new engine that can reduce the mission to Mars to a few days. This was confirmed in 2014.

3. John Aaron, the coordinator of NASA’s TSUP, not only saved Apollo-12 after it was struck by lightning, but also saved the crew members of Apollo-13 by calculating a backup power supply scheme for the ship’s equipment, thanks to which the astronauts were able to safely return to Earth.

4. At present, it is not known exactly who made the flag for the Apollo 11 mission. Either it was one of three official NASA suppliers, or the flag was ordered from a government catalog for $5.50. NASA could not confirm the manufacturer, because they do not want to “advertise to anyone”.

5. Three men from Yemen sued NASA for illegally entering Mars. They claimed that they inherited the planet from their ancestors 3000 years ago.
