Interesting facts about NASA (part 4)

1. During the filming of the cinematic masterpiece, Stanley Kubrick used lenses that were put into operation by NASA for landing on the moon manned apparatus of the “Apollo” mission. These lenses allowed them to recreate the necessary illumination during one of the scenes, previously this was only possible by candlelight.

2. NASA invented invisible briquettes, scratch-resistant lenses, and much more.

3. There is a large area on the territory of Brazil where the Earth’s magnetic field has weakened. This anomaly is called the Brazilian magnetic anomaly. This phenomenon is so great that when satellites pass over this anomaly, NASA adjusts their flight height.

4. Apollo astronauts could not apply for life insurance and were not insured by NASA. They decided to insure their autographs, doing it right before launching into space in the hope that their value would soar in the event of their death.

5. Mira is a giant dying star that is visible throughout our universe, and one fine day it will turn into a supernova – a white dwarf. NASA named the ego “Johnny’s Apple Universe.”
